Steel Teal & Grain Sideboard / Dresser

This striking sideboard—affectionately known as “Grandpa Joe’s” dresser—came to us with a story as rich as its wood grain. Rescued from a client who no longer had space for it, the piece held sentimental value and was full of cherished memories. We promised to honour its history and ensure it would be lovingly rehomed, ready to create new stories for years to come.

After a careful clean and strip-down, we revealed the original wood grain, enhancing its warmth and texture with clear wax for a natural, glowing finish. We then added a fresh update by painting select areas inside and out in Frenchic’s ‘Steel Teal’, a beautiful modern shade that complements the wood perfectly. The original drawer knobs were kept and refreshed with Rustoleum Titanium Silver, adding just the right amount of sparkle without losing the dresser’s vintage charm.

With three drawers and two spacious cupboards with internal shelving, this piece offers excellent storage and versatility. Whether used as a sideboard, dresser, or drinks cabinet, it brings together heritage, craftsmanship, and style—ready for a new chapter in a loving home.
