Rainbow Rocking Chair

A colourful challenge with a cheerful result

This lovely old traditional rocking chair had been plain white for years – functional, but a little forgotten. We wanted to give it a bold new look and decided to push the boundaries a bit by using a different colour on each section of the chair.

It turned out to be quite the challenge. With a full palette of colours, plenty of masking tape, multiple brushes, and a fair amount of patience, the transformation began. It was a slow and intricate process, with lots of careful hand painting and even more tape peeling.

But the end result made it all worthwhile – the once-plain rocker is now a vibrant, one-of-a-kind piece full of personality. It’s proof that even the most traditional furniture can be turned into something playful, fun, and totally unexpected.
