Fitzherbert Arms, Swynnerton

The Fitzherbert Arms in Swynnerton, Staffordshire, is a charming country inn with both a lively pub atmosphere and welcoming overnight accommodation. Its furniture needs to look authentic, stand up to daily use, and reflect the character of the building itself.

What We Did

At the Fitzherbert Arms, our work has covered both the residential bedrooms and the main pub areas:

  • For chairs that were unfortunately beyond repair, we sourced and supplied suitable replacements – ensuring they fitted seamlessly with the existing look and feel of the pub.
  • We supplied bedroom furniture, including several restored vintage chairs, chosen to complement the inn’s traditional style and provide guests with comfort and character in equal measure.
  • In the main pub areas, we repaired a number of vintage chairs, tackling loose joints, weakened supports, and surface wear.

The Challenge

Balancing practicality with authenticity was key. Bedroom furniture needed to be both comfortable and hard-wearing, while still looking in keeping with the historic inn. In the pub itself, our challenge was preserving as many original pieces as possible, while replacing only those that simply couldn’t be saved.

The Result

The Fitzherbert Arms now benefits from a refreshed set of furniture across both its dining and residential spaces. Restored vintage chairs sit comfortably alongside carefully sourced replacements, ensuring guests enjoy a consistent, character-filled experience whether they’re dining or staying the night.
