This bold and beautiful 1970s low-level cabinet was given a fresh new lease of life as a bespoke commission for a client in Glasgow. With its distinctive retro shape already standing out in our stock, the client envisioned something truly unique—and we were excited to make it happen.
They selected a striking colour combination of Farrow & Ball ‘Charlotte’s Locks’, a rich, vibrant orange, and Fusion’s ‘Coal Black’ to contrast and complement the design. After thorough sanding and cleaning, we applied both primer and undercoat to ensure a smooth, lasting finish. Two coats of each colour followed, resulting in a stunning transformation that feels both nostalgic and modern.
To add a touch of glamour, we lined the drawers and cupboards with black glitter wallpaper, giving the interior a fun, unexpected sparkle. The cabinet’s original inbuilt handles were kept as a nod to its 70s roots, enhancing the funky, retro vibe that makes this piece so special.
As with most of our commission projects, we personally delivered the finished piece to our delighted client in Glasgow, who was absolutely over the moon with the result. A perfect blend of vintage style and bold personality, this cabinet is proof that great design never goes out of fashion.
